What an incredible adventure. This is The Other Side of the Indian Hill Tributaries in Gowanda New York. It took a combination of warm temps with rain on top of three feet of snow pack in order to float down this gem. What a beautiful gorge.

A new favorite. Fikes Run is has it all. If you like busy narrow class IV/V steep creeking your in for a treat. Fikes is one of the more unique runs in the area. There is one must make move to the left to avoid Hubbard's Cupboard and a couple choose your own adventure lines! Approximately 4.8 miles long and a short 1/2 mile hike in Fikes can be ran several times in one day. Since there is no electronic gauge on Fikes boaters use a rock in the center of the river to judge river levels. When its blown out we use the old painted gauge on the bridge. 2.5ft on the bridge is plenty for me but many say Fikes can't get to big.
